3 Things You’ve Likely Seen This Month

  1. Rolling over and on the move!

Your baby might be rolling both ways now, exploring their world from new angles.

  2. So vocal!

Expect lots of babbling, cooing, and squealing as they discover their voice and practice early communication.

  3. Exploring textures and objects!

From reaching and grabbing to mouthing toys, their curiosity is in full swing as they learn through touch and taste.

What’s Coming Up in Month 7?

  1. Sitting Up:

Your baby may begin sitting independently, giving them a new perspective on the world.

  2. Starting Solids:

If you haven’t already, your baby may be ready to start solids. Watch for signs like sitting with support and showing interest in food.

  3. More Advanced Play:

They’ll enjoy toys that encourage exploration, like ones that light up, make noise, or have interesting textures.

Proactive Tip: Create a safe play area with toys that stimulate their senses and help them build coordination.

Health Spotlight – The 6-Month Well-Child Visit

The 6-Month Well-Child Visit:

This is an important checkup to ensure your baby is on track. Your pediatrician will:

  • Measure growth (weight, length, and head circumference).

  • Assess developmental milestones, like rolling, babbling, and reaching.

  • Discuss feeding, sleep routines, and introducing solids.

Vaccines at This Visit:

Your baby will likely receive the next doses of:

  • DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis)

  • Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)

  • IPV (Polio)

  • PCV13 (Pneumococcal)

  • Rotavirus

Proactive Tip: Plan for extra cuddles after vaccines, as mild fussiness or a slight fever is normal. Text a Summer Health pediatrician if you have any concerns.
