There are different types of vaccines but they all work to strengthen your child’s immune system and help it remember how to fight the infection in the future. In addition to providing very important protection to your child, vaccines are also safe. Every vaccine undergoes extensive testing and investigation prior to being licensed by the FDA and CDC. Most people who get vaccines have mild or no side effects. For those who do have mild side effects, they can have mild soreness and redness at the site of injection, fever, fatigue, or body aches.
